Late in the series, the group's mage Popp becomes a sage through Traumatic Superpower Awakening, instinctively casting an incredibly powerful healing spell on someone dying in his arms.By contrast Matoriv is a Sage who leans almost entirely in the " Mage with more mana" direction, to the point where he claims "Sage" is too heavy of a title for him and prefers to be called an Archmage instead.Princess Leona and the Three Sages under her have the Sage class, and are treated mainly as healers who have some weak attack spells. To a lesser extent, Heroes are Magic Knights who mainly use Mage spells, but can also learn certain spells available to Priests, and have exclusive access to lightning magic.
